Libraries are all about sharing! Each year, Campbell County Public Library System (CCPLS) serves an average of 40 patrons per hour, hosts an average of 1,200 events for over 27,000 patrons of all ages, and holds nearly 1,400 public meetings. Our collection of over 200,000 items circulates over 400,000 times among nearly 25,000 Campbell County library cardholders. That’s a lot of sharing! When COVID-19 hit, all that sharing became a public health concern and your libraries in Gillette and Wright closed their doors to the public on March 18 to help slow the virus spread.
In an effort to continue to do our part to reduce the risk of sharing COVID-19 in your libraries, CCPL and WBL will follow national library guidelines and advice from public health officials and stage a phased reopening with limited services and hours initially. The following Phase 1 guidelines will be in effect until at least June 1, 2020. If county COVID-19 infection rates remain stable, implementing Phase 2 guidelines will follow. Please check our website at www.ccpls.org for updates and to read the entire reopening plan.
